Concept 3

The Transit Planning Board (TPB) has developed Concept 3 which serves as a regional, multi-modal transit network that:

  • Focuses on connectivity and efficiency
  • Ensures travel time competitiveness and reliability
  • Connects dispersed populations to employment centers
  • Creates the transit habit in emerging corridors
  • Supports local/circulator bus networks and land use policies and patterns

This system is expected to bring the following benefits:

  • Improved air quality
  • Increased system efficiency and capacity
  • Greater system flexibility for unexpected and/or special events
  • National and international competitive business environment
  • Enhanced regional competitiveness for federal funding
