Thank You Commuter Club Participants
As we approach the end of 2007, Commuter Club thanks the commuters from throughout metro Atlanta who use an alternative ride to work in the Cumberland Galleria area. Whether it’s carpooling, vanpooling, biking, walking, taking mass transit or even teleworking, commuters are making a difference.
As a commuter, not only are you saving money, but you’re emitting less pollution and helping to alleviate traffic congestion on Atlanta’s busy roads.
For example, the average Commuter Club vanpool participant travels 78 miles to and from work each day, while paying just $50 a month for a seat on a van. That equals nearly $9,000 in annual gasoline savings by not driving alone to work. This savings is in addition to some of the less tangible benefits alternative commuters receive, such as reduced stress and the opportunity to meet new people.
Thanks to Commuter Club participants, in 2007, more than 22 tons of pollutants were eliminated from the air we all breathe and more than 800 cars were removed from local roadways each day. These are all outstanding accomplishments and we thank you for your commitment to the program.
In future months, please be on the lookout for other program enhancements that will simplify your participation in our service offerings:
- NEW Seasonal Campaigns. Commuter Club will introduce various employer and commuter incentive campaigns that you won’t want to miss. Stay tuned for details.
- NEW Marketing Materials. New commuter and employer flyers are now available. Pocket guides to everything from vanpools to using local trails will also be available in 2008.
- NEW Employer Training Sessions. Want to improve morale and your bottom line? Look for 2008 training sessions that will benefit your company and your employees.
- NEW Vanpool Rider Guide. An electronic, interactive demonstration tool is currently being developed that will help educate new and existing vanpool riders on the $50 Flat Rate Vanpool program.
- NEW Online Vanpool Reports. Soon you will be able to report your Commuter Club monthly logs electronically. Look for more details in 2008.
- Guaranteed Ride Home Administrative Changes. Registration and administration of this program will be modified in 2008 and will be managed by 1-87-RIDEFIND. Visit www.187ridefind.com for more information.
We hope you have enjoyed the benefits of participating in Commuter Club services in 2007. Our satisfaction rates from the vanpool community increased from 97% to 98% this year. As we enter 2008, please let us know how we can continue to simplify your ride to work. We welcome your comments on how we can improve our services. Thank you for doing your part to improve the place where we all live, work and play!
